Follow The White Monkey

This is my hiking companion. No one touches the white monkey.

He joins me on solo hiking trips, and backpacking excursions with our Cub Scout pack and Boy Scout troop. Whenever he shows up, the kids always say “what is that?”

“A white monkey.”

“Why do you have him?”

“Haven’t you ever had a monkey on your back?” I respond.

The kids look dumbfounded, shake their heads and walk off. The adults laugh.  along on our various jaunts; you never know where we’ll be.
