So We Built “Sam” A New Room – Come By And Say Hi

So the newest member of our clan is getting his “room” all decked out.  And this room is nothing like what the Sons of Thunder had when they were born.  We’re already getting the “Why can’t I have one,” “That’s not fair” complaints.

Each of the Sons  had their own personally designed room.  Themes varied, but there were clouds and castles and sailboats and suns and trees and birds all over the walls. And the cribs and changing tables and matching sheets to walls and all the other baby stuff we paid absurd prices for and never used overflowed the rooms.

As Sam is our fourth, lets say we’re learning. Kids don’t really need cribs and changing tables – that’s what floors are for.  And those artistic murals that the Little Black Dress spent hours on eventually get repainted.  Selling a house requires “neutral” colors they say.

So we took a different tack.  We’re going to let Sam live out in the wild or, to be a little more hip, in the cloud.  

While he’s definitely part of the family, we decided he needed a little more space than his siblings.  We’re hoping he will really grow and he’ll need lots of room.

We  met with the designers and builders; plotted color schemes and planned expansions. Eventually, we built him a room with no boundaries. He even got his own address, although we are always near.
